The problem: corrosive groundwater
In many areas the groundwater is so corrosive that gun-metal, mild steel and cast iron parts below ground corrode very quickly once they are in contact with it. These pipes were developed for exactly those sites. Special additives are also blended into the PVC so the pipe resists breakage in most conditions.
The fix: stronger ends
Plain PVC riser pipes cope well with corrosive water, but under heavy load they tend to crack at the ends. Fitting stainless steel ends to the PVC pipe removes that weak point, so the pipe gives far better value for money than metal riser pipes.

Installation Tips
- Store pipes flat and in the shade; do not drop or throw them off vehicles.
- Keep threads and couplings clean and free of grit before joining.
- Tighten joints firmly by hand and with the correct tools. Do not use pipe wrenches on the PVC body.
- Lower the pipe string steadily and support it with a proper clamp, without letting it swing against the borewell casing.
